Does anyone know where I can find a bulldog puppy?

I just want a bulldog for a pet. Not a showdog or an AKC certified dog or anything like that, just a pet. I know they are expensive dogs, but all the AKC sights I can find are just too much. anyone know just a local hobby breeder?
