How can I find my husband's biological family without having to pay some searching agency?

Unfortuneately I have found the only way to really get any real info on people is by paying. I have been loooking for my biological mother for about 20 years now. Even though I have her name and all that it is still very difficult to find her as I have 0 means of paying for info. You can try to look for birth and death records. Look for public records in the last known place they lived. It's a place to start and public records are sometimes online. You can try to find message boards thru places online that do geneology or stuff like that. Even tho I can't get my mother's exact address I can track her movements by looking for her name and the last known town she lived in in a yahoo search. Hope any of this helps.
