Chipmunk in my House! Help.....he's in the kitchen....?

I've blocked off the hallway, so hopefully he can't run back towards the bedrooms. He comes out from under the dishwasher to eat crumbs, and when I poke my head around the corner, he scurries back to the dishwasher....any suggestions on how to 'flush' him out? My dog was absolutely NO help and the critter guy isn't coming for another hour. I feel like I have to stand guard so he won't go back into the rest of the house.....
