Why is it taking the postal service so long to deliver my package?

I ordered a package from a website the beginning of January. I have moved from northern West Virginia to northern Virginia (about 5 hours from my home). When i orderd the package, i forgot to update my address and had it sent to my home in WV. So I had my mom ship it down here. She sent it from the post office in my hometown the saturday before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and was told it would take 7-10 business days. I had her send it because I needed it by friday of last week, and I though it would be no problem for them to get it to a destination 5 hours away within 10 business days. It has been 13 business days, and it has still not arrived. I'm really starting to get angry that I haven't gotten it yet. To make things worse, I ordered something off of e bay this past sunday from illinios, and recieved it yesterday. Why is it taking so long to get it? Every time I ask someone in the post office they just say that they haven't recieved it and they can't track the item.
